SRAtix, an event ticketing platform
A ticketing and exhibitor platform built from scratch rather than bought.
Client: Swiss Robotics Association
The event had been running on a third-party registration platform. The fees were significant, the data lived somewhere else, and none of it knew anything about who was already a member.
Why build rather than buy
Because the interesting requirements were the ones no general platform handles: pricing that knows a visitor is already a member and at which tier, an exhibitor portal that feeds the public exhibitor listing on the conference site, and invoices that satisfy Swiss accounting rather than generic receipts.
Check-in that survives the venue
Conference wifi fails. We treated that as a design requirement rather than an incident: check-in data is held encrypted on the device, codes are validated without a network round trip, and when connectivity returns the conflicts resolve deterministically. Nobody queues because the network is having a moment.
Badges without a browser
The host could not run a headless browser, which is how most systems render a badge or an invoice. We rebuilt that pipeline to produce the same output through a different route entirely, in under two seconds per badge.
The financial record
Payments run through a payment provider, but the accounting record does not depend on one. There is an append-only ledger with sequential invoice numbers and Swiss QR-bills, so the numbers reconcile even when a provider is having a bad day.
